Hi! I'm Amy. I am a wife to my wonderful husband and mom to two beautiful children, a 3-year old daughter { M } and a four month old son { L }. I graduated from BYU with a degree in Child, Family and Human Development and Psychology. When I'm not taking pictures, I'm a busy stay at home mom trying to keep my husband well fed, my house clean, and my kids happy!
My love for photography began after the birth of my first child. As poor college students we were unable to have professional newborn portraits taken, but I was confident that I could reproduce something similar. A friend let me borrow her "nicer" camera, and I spent hours trying to create pictures that I loved. While I treasure those pictures, I remember how frustrated I was with the camera because I didn't know how to make it do what I wanted. That experience sparked a love for photography and inspired me to learn more. I put all my Christmas money that year toward my own camera and bought my first Nikon at the end of 2008. I took hundreds and hundreds of pictures over the course of the next year before I began taking formal photography classes at the end of 2009. All the knowledge I have gained has given me control over my camera and allowed me to determine exactly what I want it to do, thereby creating images that I love. Photography is not just my hobby, it is my passion.
